Weber's Joy
|
|
Weber's Joy, also known as Witches Hut, is another easy and worthwhile dive. If the current is favorable, you can even drift dive to 1000 Steps which is about 1 km away.
Directions: On the stretch of road between Columbia and Karpata, 7 km North of Kralendijk.

09/25/2007 Jason NYC (Avg: 4.57 Review) - This northern site is still on the two way road so no worries about having to drive the long way back through Rincon. Only about 5 parking spots here next to the concrete construction that was left to the elements probably some time ago. Easy entry down some concrete stairs and over coral rubble to the water. You can't see your car from the water through the trees. The coral starts quickly after a short swim over a sandy bottom dotted with life on your way to the sloping drop off. Typical Bonaire dive where typical means ALWAYS great no matter where you dive. Very healthy!
03/23/2007 Colleen Haggart (Avg: 3.63 Review) - Nice dive site. We did this one twice during our week.
11/14/2003 Gerald Wilgus (Avg: 3.81 Review) - A short walk down a few stairs provided us with a very easy entry. We were diving very early in the morning during the "shift change" on the reef because we were flying out the next day and wanted a shallow, final, dive. While not as colorful as some other reefs on the island, the invertebrates were out and the squirrelfishes were not hiding. Came across many Pederson Cleaner Shrimp, all on Corkscrew Anemones. On one anemone there were three waving their antannae and swaying, advertising for business. Definately a nice spot for a shallow dive.
09/09/2002 Jim Haggart (Avg: 4.11 Review) - Very easy entry. Saw a Octopus eating and moving around a lot. Better in the morning. Lots of fish and a good variety.
03/04/2002 Wanda S. Rodriguez (Avg: 4.54 Review) - This was the place our instructor from Wanna Dive took us for our Underwater Naturalist class. Lots of coral, sea life and a very healthy reef. The entrance was a little rocky but not too difficult. Visibility was incredible.

Just like most sites, Bonaire has made a special effort to provide parking and markings for divers. There is parking for three vehicles here, and several more along the road.
