The Powell River area offers such spectacular diving, and Dinner Rock is no exception. Basic campground facilities are available, so take a couple of tanks and plan on spending the evening.
Directions: Drive 4.5km South of Lund, or 15.5km North of the Powell River bridge, then turn Southwest on Dinner Rock Road. The preceding roads you'll encounter from Lund are Malaspina, then Dinner Rock. 10/17/2003 Hal Ross (Avg: 3.49 Review) - I did not do the rock, but what we call the "Iron Mines" just a short ways from Dinner Rock. Great dive, pick your tides as the current will run. But an excellent cliff dive, huge sponge, caves. If you want a current dive in a relatively secure area., do it here! PS: the MV Gulf Stream is too deep for me. 160, no time.
08/17/2003 Robert BC (Avg: 3.98 Review) - Great Place, great live, nice shore access. Nice big octopus at the base of the island.

This marks the entry to a narrow, winding dirt road. The road is well-maintained, so your car should not have any problem.

Sit for awhile at the picnic table on this bluff, and soak in the beauty. The trail to the water is just to the left.

Take your time, and help your buddy down to the water's edge. You'll find several outcroppings from which you can slip into the sea.
