Egmont Marina Resort
|
|
This is another fine entry to the Sechelt Inlet, and an ideal place to camp for the night. Check-in with the marina, and discuss your dive plans with them. They'll have plenty of recommendations for you!
Directions: At the North end of the Sechelt Peninsula, just South of the Earls Cove Ferry, take Egmont Road East for 9km. Turn left on Maple Road, and travel for a short distance until the sign below.

03/24/2006 Dan Kjelland (Avg: 4.47 Review) - 80 feet of vis when I dove here. Made two dives, one east of the dock and one west. East dive was shallow with quite a lot of life to see. Saw an octo out in the open. West dive was deeper and a lot more exciting. Sea pens, many feather stars. Look forward to doing the west dive again.
04/24/2003 Elvis Biochem (Avg: 4.00 Review) - I really like this site. It's got tons of life. Lots of tube worms, rose stars, even some colonial ascidians! Be very wary of boats, as the main dock is right there!!! On the bright side, things grow all over the docks. never experienced any strong current although you are near the Skookumchuck Rapids, so beware :) ! My friends do this as a night dive, and they love it. Air fills and pub (I recommend the clam chowder) are right there when you get out of the water...
10/29/2001 Shawn Pedlar (Avg: 4.17 Review) - Great diving with this resort as a base of operations. Visibility was in excess of 100 feet and our night dive was awesome. We had a great dive right below the marina dock and used Sunshine Coast Tours for a dive on the Chaudierre and Skookumchuck Rapids. Bryce really knows his stuff. I highly recommend this place. The pub has great food and the staff is fantastic. The cabins were neat and tidy and warm and comfy with their wood stoves.

The entry could not be easier. Carry your flag, and listen for boat traffic.
