02/03/2010 Lynne Flaherty (Avg: 3.63 Review) - We've done this dive several times, going to the north end of the beach and starting on the rock ribs, and then working our way out to the patch reefs. The corals here are really in beautiful condition, compared with a lot of other sites. The rock ribs are VERY shallow (10') so subject to reduced viz and surge when there is surf. It's a good idea to tow a flag/float when entering and exiting, as the hotel runs a large outrigger canoe in and out of this beach.
05/30/2009 Jerry Burawski (Avg: 3.53 Review) - Good to check out. Pretty mellow dive. Easy beach walk in & out. Park 100' from the water. Compared to some other dives this one was just OK.
10/14/2005 Kendall Roberg (Avg: 3.85 Review) - I suggest the North Side of this beach. This reef is awesome with some very cool small caves and arches. The visibility was bad going out but, once out at the reef, it cleared up. The reef structure and all the holes and caves are what makes this dive fun and unique. Great second dive for the day and easy to navigate.
08/04/2002 Bill Stohler (Avg: 2.65 Review) - The South side of this site is also the North side of White Rock, which is entered off the right side of Palauea Beach. The swim from Polo Beach is a bit farther to get to the reef, but there are some patch reefs antler corals and a lot of white sand along the way. Not a bad dive, but I prefer the White Rock entry as you get to the reef sooner.
