Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Turtle Bay

Turtle Bay is a nice family beach area with all the facilities. The diving is excellent beyond the barrier reef, but snorkelers can find fish and an occasional turtle in the shallows. Remember not to approach a resting turtle any closer than 20 feet. Off Kamehameha Highway. Northern most bay on Oahu in the Kawela area. Also known as Kulima Cove, Laniakea Beach, Turtle Beach

Came to Turtle Bay thinking it would be a nice easy dive as it was flat as could be. Entry was easy. Didn't mind paying for parking. At least the truck wouldn't get broken into. (When we left with an invalidated ticket, didn't get charged) Swim to the site mentioned in the picture was easy as the current just swept us out there. Max depth was 13ft and we were 100 yards outside the bay. Water was murky and there was very little wildlife. Turned back to the beach with 1700 lbs. and the trip back was tough. Had to fight current the whole way. Luckily, at that depth, air would last forever. I won't do this dive again. Much prefer Shark's Cove or Three Tables.
