Newman's Wall, like the Coco View wall, is another scenery smorgasbord of macro life. From 3 to 30 meters, you can wend your way in and out of the canyon walls, taking in all the views Roatan is famous for.

Directions: A few kilometers East of French Harbour, take the road to Fantasy Island Resort. You can't miss it!

09/28/2006 Jason NYC (Avg: 4.02 Review) - Good info provided by others so I'll just add that this site can be done as a shore dive from Fantasy Island or Coco View Resorts. We stayed at CCVR and dove this site almost everyday. It's awesome but I did prefer Coco View Wall a little more. Visibility was always 50-100 feet. The wall is healthy and the shallows on the top probably get less attention than they should. Coco View does this site as a boat drop off in the mornings for the second tank. You just swim along the wall keeping the wall to your left, pass the wreck, and then you are back on shore at CCVR. Very easy and relaxing dive. It takes about 40 minutes from the wall to CCVR swimming at a moderate pace with a few stops along the way to smell the coral roses. Lovely as a night dive too if you feel like swimming all the way out and back. Very rarely had current here. Dramatic wall to 100ft+.

04/27/2005 N.G. (Avg: 4.33 Review) - I love the resort!! Fantasy Island is a wonderful place. I did my check out & certification dives off their gazebo. Easily accessible but not very good visibility (sand). The wrecks were cool, though.

04/11/2004 Miguel Gerov (Avg: 4.45 Review) - The facilities are great, if you like rustic type resort. The dive facilities are excellent, very well organized. Shore diving one of the best.

11/21/2003 Doc Adelman, C.I.D. (Avg: 4.25 Review) - In terms of shore diving, this is easier from Coco View. The shallow top of Newman's is an excellent night dive but plan your route up during the daylight first - avoid it when there's surge. Octopus city! The route to Fantasy Resort is occluded (man-made beach) must follow the aircraft cable. Look for eels in the basin to the NW of FIBR gazebo. Easy from Coco View.

Before taking this short bridge to the island, you will be met by security personnel. It is best to contact the resort before showing up unannounced!

From the main lodge, you will walk a short, sandy path to get to the entry point.

This is the same gazebo seen in the intro picture, with Coco View Resort off in the distance. Newman's Wall is a 20 meter swim to the right, and the Wreck of the Prince Albert is straight ahead.
