04/11/2011 Adrian from Lafayette (Avg: 3.94 Review) - Blue springs now has a new owner. I have been helping out down there to get things right. They are wanting blue springs to be one of the best quarries in Indiana. They are getting 20 4ft paddle fish that they will release on April 30. So come out and see what's going on.

10/23/2007 Mick (Avg: 3.35 Review) - This site is getting better! They now have 3 working hot water showers. A new training platform is being setup October 28th, 2007 and the owner is open for more ideas. Vis is getting better but it depends on the time of year and how many divers are in the water. Last weekend I was impressed with 30-40 foot vis.

08/30/2007 Dan from Indianapolis (Avg: 3.04 Review) - This is the best diving Indiana has to offer. Vis is good for a Midwest quarry. I have been diving here for 10 years and the place has made significant improvements. It is better for divers who are used to the cold water. Bottom temp is around 42 to 48 degrees, depending on the season. Night dives offer a very different experience. I dive quarries all over the Midwest and this is one of my top five.

06/12/2006 Mick (Avg: 2.93 Review) - Nice site, friendly staff. Water was murky but I had at least 20+ feet of visibility, which is better than I've heard. Water was cold: surface temp was 64*F, and at 20ft we hit the thermocline and it dropped to 50*F

04/19/2006 Anonymous (Avg: 3.15 Review) - Great visibility early spring, when the water is cold, not too many divers come out, and algae growth is at minimum. Late Spring and Summer visibility is 0 ft.

08/09/2005 William M. Perry (Avg: 2.76 Review) - Blue Springs is where I finished my certification dives, so I have a bit of a soft spot for it... I also just did my dive master mapping project there, so I know almost every inch of the quarry now. A lot of updates were made in the last 4 or 5 months - new things to see, labels on ropes between items, etc. The visibility at blue springs is consistently better than the other quarries I have been diving in Indiana. Typically 15-20 feet if you aren't there at the height of checkout dives (diving during the day on weekdays you can expect to have the quarry pretty much to yourselves). New stuff includes some new 5' diameter swim-throughs, a new boat (or at least previously unmarked). A new mid-sized boat (16'-20') is about to be sunk sometime this fall. Blue Springs is a good site for training dives, but everyone has figured that out in the last 12 months, so it gets very crowded on the weekends. If anybody has good directions to the 'deep spot' supposedly in the southeast corner, please share. I have gotten 55' consistently in that area, but there is supposed to be an elevator shaft dropping to almost 70'.

07/26/2005 Wedge (Avg: 2.45 Review) - Why would you dive any other place in the world when you can dive BSP? A true diver's paradise!

07/07/2004 Mike L (Avg: 2.07 Review) - Well you have to learn somewhere. Diving at Blue Springs is low vis, not much to see (the dental chair), but it is the only decent training facility near Indianapolis. They are making improvements, slowly. Air fills are available and are reasonably priced.

05/28/2004 Charlotte (Avg: 3.66 Review) - First of all, Diving in Indiana is limited so any place is a great place! Easy access from parking (less then 100 feet) There is a nice dock to allow for easy entry and solid exit to remove BCs, weights, and fins. There are changing sheds and covered class areas. The water is cool and clear. Plus there are many fun things to locate like the coffin. An excellent place for training as dive centers from 3 states use it.

03/29/2004 Matthew Bane (Avg: 2.06 Review) - Blue Springs is a rock quarry dive site. Vis maybe 12', mucky bottom, and a thermocline. You can drive your car right down to the quarry, and they do have a few things to look at - a couple boats, and an armored car being the most interesting.
