Blue Springs is where I finished my certification dives, so I have a bit of a soft spot for it... I also just did my dive master mapping project there, so I know almost every inch of the quarry now. A lot of updates were made in the last 4 or 5 months - new things to see, labels on ropes between items, etc. The visibility at blue springs is consistently better than the other quarries I have been diving in Indiana. Typically 15-20 feet if you aren't there at the height of checkout dives (diving during the day on weekdays you can expect to have the quarry pretty much to yourselves). New stuff includes some new 5' diameter swim-throughs, a new boat (or at least previously unmarked). A new mid-sized boat (16'-20') is about to be sunk sometime this fall. Blue Springs is a good site for training dives, but everyone has figured that out in the last 12 months, so it gets very crowded on the weekends. If anybody has good directions to the 'deep spot' supposedly in the southeast corner, please share. I have gotten 55' consistently in that area, but there is supposed to be an elevator shaft dropping to almost 70'.
