03/11/2011 Love to Dive (Avg: 1.88 Review) - We used to love diving here and camping but unfortunately they allow fishing here on Labor day weekend on until Memorial day now. It use to be a nearby nice small stone quarry to dive in, and my husband even saw a huge paddlefish. Labor day weekend the stone quarry was packed with fisherman. They have a separate fishing pond but they fished it out and now have fished out the stone quarry which used to be just for divers and swimmers. If you go diving here watch out for the fishing hooks and many boats on the quarry. If you go during summer, there are no fishermen but the beach is open to swimmers who stir up the visibility. Still better to go during the summer so you don't get hooked by the many fishermen. It is diving but hardly any fish to see since it has been fished out.

06/13/2010 Dawn Bowers (Avg: 3.41 Review) - We went to France Park with Weteachscuba.com Instructors for our certification dives. It was great! There is a vast amount of animal life in this quarry. From the awesome Paddle fish to little tiny fish. There was always something to look at. When we weren't diving, there were plenty of trails to walk or just enjoy the campfire. The staff was great and friendly. You can drive about 150 feet or so from the shore to drop off your gear. It costs us $10 a day to dive plus the $2 gate fee. I think air refills were $8. Great place to dive. I will be going back soon!

09/30/2003 Joseph Martine (Avg: 3.93 Review) - Have been to several of the quarries in the Indianapolis area and have found this place to have more wildlife than any other of the quarries around. I saw my first Paddlefish and got some pretty decent pics. (http://www.decompstop.com - look in the photography tab for Indiana) They were having a Treasure Hunt that was sponsored by one of the local dive shops and there were 70+ divers in the water. It was pretty stirred up in areas, but where there wasn't alot of traffic, the water was REALLY clear. They have a good bit of mussles (some zebra I think) that keep the water cleared out. Not as many manmade "features" as other places, but they have a bus, a couple of cars and some other things like that. Still couldn't believe all of the fish. There is a nice satellite dive shop at the water entrance and they have inexpensive fills and even a heavy-duty wagon (for $1) to haul you gear from the car to the water's edge. Nice beach area and lots of trees. I never got below 23ft although I heard there is some spots that are a bit deeper.
