South Casa
|
|
South Casa is the alternate entry for Children's Pool. This site has two wonderful channels carved from the beach to the sea. This is not a dive for beginners, and should only be attempted on a calm day.
Directions: 500 yards South of La Jolla Cove. (See driving directions for La Jolla Cove)

07/13/2004 Greasy Pirate (Avg: 3.31 Review) - South Casa is a great place for snorkeling. As a spearo, I like its proximity to both giant kelp and the marine reserve just to the north. The visibilty, as with most of La Jolla, is usually just poor to fair. When the vis is good, it makes up for the bad days. Last time I was there I saw sargo, opaleye, garibaldi, calico bass, california halibut, a dead seal, smelt, mackerel, barracuda, white sea bass, and about a million senoritas.

Parking, like all of La Jolla, is very limited. Get here early, or on a weekday to avoid the crowds!
