Great site at a great hotel. Some people don't like Coz for shore diving, but I think it's great, especially for night dives. Among other things I found a really big sea horse there.

Ok for snorkeling I guess, but I wouldn't even bother to bring a tank here.
04/12/2004 3.18 Koloa Landing Kauai, Hawaiian Islands
One of the nicer shore dives on the south side. Shallow swim out to the reef where large turtles like to hang out right at the entrance.
04/12/2004 2.31 Bonne Terre Mines, Bonne Terre Missouri, USA Mid
I guess this is a shore dive as there is no boat involved, however you have to pay like your boat diving in Hawaii. An abandoned lead mine that filled up with water and is lit up from overhead lights. No life to speak of but an interesting underwater history tour. Water is 56 degrees. Entry is easy from a dock, however it's a nice hike down stairs/trail to the entry point.
04/12/2004 2.77 Tunnels Reef Kauai, Hawaiian Islands
My favorite shore dive on the island. Fascinating coral formations. Look around in the "tunnels" for resting sharks.
04/12/2004 2.54 Quail Run Divers Quarry, Rolla Missouri, USA Mid
Small quarry about an hour outside of St. Louis. Useful only for training, nothing really to see here.
04/12/2004 2.65 Ginnie Springs Florida, USA East
Basically a scuba/cave diving theme park. Good facilities. Ginnie Spring is a nice open cavern with a grate making it a safe dive for even OW divers. Other areas have strict no-lights policy unless you have cave certification. Looking up from the Devil's Ear entrance gives a great view of the tannic waters of the river mixing with the clear spring water.
