We've dived this site a bunch, and have generally found it a very pleasant dive, although it's shallow enough that if the surf is up at all, the visibility can be very poor. But yesterday, we dove out to the far end of the second reef and ran into some offshore current that was strong enough to make it a struggle to get back to shore at all, and we were unable to exit at Ulua but had to do the more exposed exit at Mokapu. Just a warning that there can be significant current here!

We've done this dive several times, going to the north end of the beach and starting on the rock ribs, and then working our way out to the patch reefs. The corals here are really in beautiful condition, compared with a lot of other sites. The rock ribs are VERY shallow (10') so subject to reduced viz and surge when there is surf. It's a good idea to tow a flag/float when entering and exiting, as the hotel runs a large outrigger canoe in and out of this beach.

I've now done this site twice, once at high tide and once at very low, and I really don't know why I don't do it more often. It's easy to get to, to park, to get into the water, and to navigate, and there is a ton of life in those rocks, and very different from the Coves on the other side of the Alki point.
