We dove this sight a couple times during really high surf. Entry was no problem as we could wait for a period of low surf but I got really banged up upon exit (bruises - no blood). The rough surf contributed to poor visibility, but I could tell it would have been a great site during low surf. There are great caverns and little caves. We saw a few morays and lots of fish. Definitely worth trying when the conditions are right.

We dove this site two times because it was so easy to get in and out during a period of high surf when every other dive site was off limits. We saw numerous eels, Hawaiian puffers, and fish. It would also make an excellent night dive site. There is a shower in the parking area which is very handy for rinsing out equipment.

This is the best shore diving spot during high surf conditions because the entry is so easy. We did this dive at night for the first time and had no problem figuring out where to get in. At night, there is a timer on the light that marks the parking area, so you should leave your own flashing strobes at the entry point because the timer might expire while you are diving and you won't know where to go. At night, we saw slipper lobster, lizard fish, lots of shrimp, crab, sleeping turtles, etc. It was a 35 minute drive from the Keahou Bay area and well worth it.
