Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Abay Hospital Bottle Dive

Entry is after the pavilion walk to the right down the hill to the fishing dock, jump in and drop down, the hospital was built on a hotel property so there is a ton of bottles and glassware just waiting for people to dig for and discover. Gentle currents may be an issue so watch it, stay close to the wall and you can swim back, or just drift down to the Islander and get out. Lots of diving to be done right in this general area. 81N to 13E to Alexandria Bay light, go left into the heart of A-bay, go straight until road T's, go left and then right into the park parking lot. Carry gear thru the pavilion and use tables on other side.

This was my first dive in fresh water since being stationed at Fort Drum. I enjoyed it. The sunken ship was there in my face as soon as I dropped down like a monster looking me in the eyes...it was awsome. I highly recommend this spot.

There is a very nice Gazebo and entrance ramp. This is also the location of the Islander Wreck and an underwater platform. This is a great dive to just have fun. You can access a lot from this location including a depth of 85 feet with some current, or stay in the wreck area and have almost no current and about 40-50 feet in depth. East about 100 yards from the bow of the Islander (approximately 30 feet off shore from the entrance ramp) is the platform and West of the Islander is the Hospital and shoot (more advanced diving in the shoot area due to current).
