Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Boca Catalina
This is a popular site for diving, snorkeling and just relaxing in the sun. There are several shades in the area, and the beach is perfect for kids.
Head to the North part of the island. About 500 m North of the Northern 1B 2B intersection, you'll see the beach on your left.

Parked and entered at Boca Catalina (easy parking right at beach... Look for big yellow house). Easy entry through small sandy beach which lets you avoid rocky entry. Drifted north along rock wall past Catalina Cove, Arushi, and Malmok, then had to swim back against current (not too bad) to get back to sandy entryway at Boca Catalina. Overall, fairly easy. Coral formations ok, lots of schools of fish, but not great varieties. Snorkel blats stopped offshore at about 10am, but only stayed for 20 minutes or so. We could see dive boats further offshore for the wreck, but it seemed too far to try to snorkel out there.
